Get Started With RealOpen

Use your cryptocurrency to buy real estate outright or fund the down payment on a traditionally financed home. Verify your holdings, document your funds, and move toward closing without relying on a crypto-friendly seller.

  • About 15 minutes
  • No cost
  • Your keys stay with you
  • The seller receives dollars

Two ways to use RealOpen

Fund the full purchase price, or get a mortgage from your own lender and fund the down payment. Either way, the seller receives dollars and never has to accept crypto. The first two steps below are the same for both.

  • Buy a Home Outright With CryptoUse cryptocurrency to fund the full purchase price. RealOpen converts the crypto to USD and wires the closing funds to escrow. The seller receives dollars.
  • Use Crypto for a Mortgage Down PaymentObtain a traditional mortgage through your lender and use eligible cryptocurrency proceeds for your down payment or approved closing costs. RealOpen supports verification, documentation, conversion, and lender-approved funding.

From verification to funding in four steps

Account and wallet verification come first on both paths. The document you use and the way funds move at closing depend on whether you are paying outright or financing.

  1. Create your RealOpen account

Sign up with your email, Apple, Google or Coinbase account. Identity verification takes about three minutes: your ID and a selfie.

  2. Verify a wallet you control

Share the address of a self-custody wallet, then prove you control it with a signed message or a small test transfer. Your keys stay with you. Crypto on an exchange? Contact RealOpen before submitting a wallet; exchange-held assets are verified and funded through a coordinated process.

    How wallet verification works
  3. Get the document your purchase needs

Buying outright? Your Proof of Funds letter is generated as soon as the wallet is verified and backs a cash offer on any home on the market. Getting a mortgage? The letter is optional: your lender’s preapproval backs a financed offer, and the same verification produces the RealScore™ Report your lender can review.

  4. Make your offer and fund at closing

Offer with a standard cash contract, or work with your lender on a financed offer and confirm the documentation and funding route your loan program requires before funds move. At funding, send crypto to RealOpen; it is converted to dollars and wired to escrow, or to your own bank account first where your lender requires that. The seller never touches crypto.

One verification, two documents

The same wallet verification produces the document each path needs. Listing agents and lenders check either one at realopen.com/verify.

  • Buying outright

    Proof of Funds letter

Shows the verified dollar balance of wallets you control and carries an ID any listing agent can check at realopen.com/verify. Issued in about 15 minutes, at no cost. It is not a mortgage preapproval; your lender issues that.

    RealScore™ Report

Documents verified ownership, balances, history and an estimated dollar value of wallets you control, in a form your lender can independently confirm. Your lender decides what it accepts for a down payment or reserves; the report does not guarantee acceptance.
