How to send a transfer from Phantom

How to send a transfer from Phantom to complete a test-transfer wallet verification — and match the Solana or EVM network so funds aren't lost.

Sending from Phantom completes a test-transfer verification or moves funds generally. The steps are the same for a tiny dust amount and a larger transfer — but the network you pick matters more in a multi-chain wallet.

Steps

  1. Open Phantom and select the asset holding your funds. Note which network it's on (Solana vs. an EVM chain).
  2. Tap Send.
  3. Paste the destination address and verify the first and last characters.
  4. Confirm the network matches the destination address. A Solana address and a 0x address are not interchangeable.
  5. Enter the amount — very small for a verification test transfer.
  6. Review the fee. On Solana, fees are tiny and finality is typically near-instant; on EVM chains, fees vary with congestion.
  7. Confirm, then track the transaction until it's finalized.

Avoiding mistakes

  • Wrong network is the top way funds are lost. Solana funds must go to a Solana address; EVM funds to a 0x address. Phantom holds both, so double-check.
  • On Solana, sending a token may involve creating the recipient's token account; this is normal and costs a tiny rent amount.
  • Solana confirms in seconds in normal conditions; verification completes once the transfer finalizes on-chain.

For the current send flow, see Phantom's official support documentation.
