How to send a transfer from MetaMask

Sending from MetaMask is how you complete a test-transfer verification, or move funds generally. The mechanics are the same for a tiny dust transfer and a large one.

Steps

1. Open MetaMask and select the account holding the funds.
2. Confirm the network at the top matches the asset and the destination. This is the single most important check.
3. Click Send.
4. Paste the destination address and verify the first and last characters character-for-character.
5. Enter the amount. For a verification test transfer, this is a very small amount — fees are the only real cost.
6. Review the network fee. MetaMask estimates it; you can adjust it if the network is congested.
7. Confirm. Track the transaction until it reaches the required confirmations.

Avoiding the common mistakes

• Wrong network is the #1 way funds are lost. Sending a token on a chain the recipient isn't watching means it won't appear — and may be unrecoverable. Match the network end to end.
• Underpaying the fee is the most common cause of a stuck transaction. Use MetaMask's estimate or a bit above it during busy periods.
• Confirmation isn't instant — timing depends on the network. A verification isn't marked complete until the transfer confirms on-chain.
