How to sign a message in Trust Wallet

How to sign a message in Trust Wallet via WalletConnect or the in-app browser to prove wallet ownership for verification, without moving any funds.

Trust Wallet can sign a verification message to prove you control an address, without moving funds or exposing your keys. Message signing is typically initiated through Trust's in-app browser or a connected interface (WalletConnect).

How it works

  1. Start the signing request from the verification flow and connect Trust Wallet (often via WalletConnect or the in-app browser).
  2. A signing prompt appears showing the message.
  3. Read the message and confirm it's a verification you initiated.
  4. Confirm the account shown is the one you intend to verify.
  5. Approve to produce the signature, or reject if anything looks off.

No transaction is broadcast and no fee is charged for signing.

Safety

  • Only sign requests from a flow you started and trust.
  • A verification message should be readable; be cautious signing opaque data.
  • Signing never moves funds; approving a transaction does. Confirm which you're being asked to do.
  • Signing support can depend on the asset/chain. If it isn't available for yours, use a test transfer.

For the current signing UI, see Trust Wallet's official support documentation.
