How to find your wallet address in MetaMask
How to find and copy your MetaMask wallet address — the public 0x address you submit for crypto wallet verification and a proof-of-funds letter.
Your MetaMask address is the public identifier you share to receive funds or to submit for wallet verification. It starts with 0x and is safe to share — it is not your private key or recovery phrase.
Extension and mobile app
- Open MetaMask and unlock it.
- Make sure the correct account is selected at the top — MetaMask can hold several accounts, each with its own address.
- Click the account name or address at the top of the window. MetaMask copies the address to your clipboard.
- Paste it where you need it and confirm the first and last characters match what MetaMask shows.
Important notes
- MetaMask addresses are EVM addresses. The same
0xaddress works across Ethereum and other EVM networks (Polygon, Arbitrum, and so on), but the funds and the network must match — an address holding USDC on one chain won't show that balance when checked on another. - If you have multiple accounts, the balance you want may be under a different one. Switch accounts to find the address that actually holds your funds.
- Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase. No legitimate verification ever asks for it.
